Bhubaneswar: July 20: In last 24 hours, 2085 Covid positive cases were found in Odisha. As informed by I & PR Department, Government of Odisha, out of 2085 fresh cases, 1198 people were in quarantine and rest 887 are local contact cases.
Khurda district reported 528 fresh cases, followed by Cuttack 210, Bhadrak 173, Jajpur 132, Balasore 113, Jagatsinghpur 108 and Puri 106 news cases.
Kendrapara recorded 94 cases, Mayurbhanj 84 cases, Angul 73 cases, Nayagarh 60 cases, Dhenkanal 41 cases, Sambalpur 36 cases, Sundergarh 25 cases, Keonjhar 24 cases, Gajapati & Malkangiri 19 cases each, Kandhamal & Nawarangpur 18 cases each, Koraput 16 cases, Bargarh 15 cases, Ganjam & Rayagada 14 cases each, Kalahandi 10 cases, Balangir 7 cases, Nuapada 5 cases, Deogarh & Sonepur 4 cases each, Boudh 3 cases and Jharsuguada 2 cases.
Total cases in Odisha increased to 9,58,059 and out of that, 9,32,666 patients have already recovered from the disease.
Yesterday, 2248 patients recovered from the infection as stated by Health & Family Welfare Department.
Odisha has been continuously reporting more than 50 cases a day and today, it has reported 56 cases. Though, these cases are not of a particular day as informed by Health Department. It gives the details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19. Any how, with 56 cases reported today, the total death toll in the State jumped to 5172.
Daily Positivity rate remains below 3 per cent though number of cases has gone up. Yesterday it was 1648 and today, it is 2085.
