Brave cop stops President’s convoy to let ambulance pass

It needs guts and courage to stop the convoy of President. In a country where it’s generally seen policemen are eagerly ready to please their superiors, traffic police sub-inspector ML Nijalingappa has won the hearts of the people of Bengaluru for his act of stopping the President’s convoy so that an ambulance could pass through.

The cop who was deployed at Bengaluru Trinity Circle to oversee the traffic at this busy junction as a part of the police arrangements for the President’s visit has kept the twitter buzzing for his presence of mind and lauded by many for his decision.

President Pranab Mukherjee who was in the city for the inauguration of the Metro was heading towards the Raj Bhavan when Nijalingappa spotted an ambulance trying to make its way to the hospital. The cop immediately directed his other colleagues to help the ambulance travel through the heavy traffic road.

The Bengaluru police has announced a reward for him and praised the cop for doing his duty.
