Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani announced roll-out of Jio Fiber communication for commercial purpose on September 5, 2019 at the company’s 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday.
The Reliance Chairman said, “Today, I want to announce that starting 5 September, on the third anniversary of Jio, we are commercially launching Jio Fiber.”
He also announced on the Jio Fiber base price which will start at 100 Mbps and is planned till 1 Gbps.
Mukesh Ambani also said on the launch of Premium Jio Giga Fiber in mid-2020 where consumers can watch movies at home on the same day it will release in movie theatres.
He also said, Jio Fiber consumers will have the benefit to pay either for voice or data. The Reliance company has planned for the complete network to be rolled out in the next 12 months.
Meanwhile, the Reliance Industries Limited announced a foreign investment of 20% (15 billion dollars) in oil and chemical business to Saudi oil giant Aramco and 49% to BP of UK.
