B-Town actor Vivek Oberoi, courting controversy for disrespecting actor Aishwariya Rai on his Twitter handle a day before, faced backlash from Bollywood personalities sought apology through a message on Tuesday.

Oberoi wrote, “Sometimes what appears to be funny and harmless at first glance to one, may not be so to others. I have spent the last 10 years empowering more than 2000 unprivileged girls, I can’t even think of being disrespectful to any woman ever.”

Earlier on May 20, Oberoi had posted a picture collaging Salman Khan and Aishwariya Rai titling it as “Opinion poll” and then posting a picture of his own with Rai and labeling it as “Exit Poll”.

Finally, he concluded the meme with actor Abhisekh Bachchan and Aradhya as “Result”. He had posted this collage of pictures captioning it as “Haha creative! No politics here…. just life”

The Bollywood personalities like Sonam Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar and others lambasted Vivek Oberoi of being “disgraceful and distasteful”. Oberoi has been served notice by the National Commission for Women (NCW).

Later, Oberoi deleted the mischievous tweet from his twitter account.
