Bhubaneswar: February 18: Farmers staged rail-blockade (rail-roko) agitation in different parts of Odisha, as part of the four-hour-all-India protest. Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and other farmers’ organisations led protest marches to railway stations and railway lines in various districts of the State.
The farmers carried banners, flags and posters and raise slogans demanding the repeal of the 3 new farm laws.
Led by state and local leaders, the farmers carried banners, flags and posters and raise vociferous slogans demanding the repeal of the 3 new farm laws as they attempted to storm rail premises or railway tracks.
‘The central government has introduced three unfair laws in the interests of the capitalist class that will result in farmers losing their constitutional and fundamental rights and benefiting capitalists, businessmen, corporations and black marketers. Under the law, capitalists, businessmen, corporations and black marketers will loot the grain produced by the country’s breadwinner by working tirelessly. Prices of food items will continue to rise.’, said Farmers’ leaders.
