The GST launch will happen at the stroke of midnight on 30 June in the central hall of Parliament where all members of the Parliament,GST council members,Chief Ministers and officials who have helped in the process will be present.
According to sources, GST will be launched in the presence of President Pranab Mukherjee,Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Speaker of the Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan.It will be a hour long function, where two short films will be screened followed by speeches by President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on GST.
GST is perceived as the single biggest tax reforms since independence and is aimed to subsume various central and state taxes levied on goods and services,bringing India under uniform tax regime.
