Paarl: After a successful ODI series, England opener Alex Hales has continued his dominating form as he scored a wonderful half-century which set a foundation to their innings in the 20-over warm-up game here at Boland Park on Wednesday.
The visitors registered a 44-run win against South Africa A side which was led by Morne Van Wyk.
Chasing a massive 203-run target, the hosts managed to score only 158 runs in their 20 overs. Reece Topley was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged three wickets in his four overs by conceding only 29 runs while spinner Adil Rashid ended his spell with 2/27 from his four.
Theunis de Bruyn was the highest scorer for the hosts as he scored a solid 38-ball-56, including eight boundaries and a maximum.

Previously, England had set a massive target for the hosts. Hales, who had scored four 50s and a century in the five-match ODI series, played another magnificent knock up front. He scored 78 runs off just 52 deliveries, including nine boundaries and three maximums.
But it was the skipper Eoin Morgan who helped his side to cross the 200-run mark by playing a blinder in the slog overs. He scored a demolishing knock of 42 off just 13 deliveries including five maximums and a boundary.
Left-arm pacer Wayne Parnell was the ace performer for the hosts as he ended his figure with 3/26 from his four overs.
The first T20I will be played tomorrow in Cape Town.
