Cuttack: With one more dengue patient succumbing to death while undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical here, the total toll has mounted up to four in Odisha.
The deceased has been identified as Sanatan Nayak of Tangarapada village of Keonjhar district. Sanatan was shifted from the dengue ward in the hospital to the ICU on August 12 as his condition deteriorated.
According to reports, Sanatan breathed his last in the ICU last night at around 2.30 am, the nodal officer said.
Earlier, the first dengue death of the season was reported on August 9 when 35-year-old Som Prakash Mishra, a daily wager from Bihar died while undergoing treatment at the SCB.
Later, on August 11, Harihar Mallick of Basudevpur in Bhadrak district died when he was undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
On August 25, a 45-yer-old woman identified as CH Parvati of Jhatipada village under Chikiti block in Ganjam district died at the MKCG Medical in Berhampur.
