Bhubaneswar: With 13 more persons having tested positive for HINI virus today, the total number of swine flu positive cases in the state has gone up to 84 creating panic among people.
Swab samples of 24 persons were sent to the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) today of which 13 samples tested positive for H1N1 influenza.
Till date, swab samples of 281 patients, who were admitted to different hospitals in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, were tested at the RMRC. Out of these 281 samples, 84 have tested positive for swine flu virus.
Four persons have already died due to swine flu in the state.
A woman, identified as Santipriya, of Kotian village in Jagatsinghpur district died of the disease on August 10.
The state government had earlier issued guidelines for hospitals to tackle swine flu. The Health and Family Welfare department also has also issued list of ‘Do’s and Do Nots’ in public interest enhanced the awareness drive to prevent the spread of swine flu influenza.
