Swine Flu: 34 Tested Positive, Hospitals Asked To Set Up Special Wards

Bhubaneswar: With two more persons testing positive for HINI virus, the total number of swine flu cases detected in the state has gone up to 34 today while the Health Department has directed both government and privately-run hospitals to set up special wards  to treat influenza affected persons.

The Health Department has issued special advisory to 15 privately-run hospitals and nursing homes to set up separate isolation wards with ventilator support for H1N1 cases.

The department also asked the hospitals to monitor the patients 24×7  and submit details and status reports on patients admitted and undergoing treatment on a daily basis.

The Health Department said that the number of patients has declined in the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar as several patients have been relieved after successful treatment.

On July 5, HINI claimed the first first victim in the state. In 2015, 13 had died due to the viral attack.
