The Rajasthan government passed the bill for 5 percent reservation for the Gujjar community along with four other minority communities in the assembly on Wednesday.

The new reservation limit will be expanded from 21 percent to 26 percent which will boost the minorities in job and educational sector.

Rajasthan Energy Minister B D Kalla presented the bill in the state assembly earlier in the day.

The protesters had been raising slogans since February 8 and had blocked the Delhi-Mumbai railway track, highways and roads.

The minority communities included in the bill are Gujjars, Banjaras, Gadia Lohars, Raikas and Gadaria.

However, the Gujjar leaders have demanded for a concrete proof regarding the passage of bill.
