Fire broke out on the fifth floor of Pandit Deendayal Antodaya Bhawan of the Delhi CGO complex early in the morning around 8.30 AM on Wednesday.
A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sub-inspector was declared brought dead at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) when he fell unconscious after breathing in the smoke.
Around 24 firefighter engines have rushed to the spot to control the raging flames. Chief fire officer Atul Garg said, “The fire started at an office of the social justice and empowerment ministry in the building. The flames have been contained and the cooling process is underway. The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained.”
