Gigantic Feet: One More Cape Size Ship Anchors At Paradip Port

Paradip: The Paradip Port here added yet another glorious feather to its cap by successfully allowing to berth MV Mineral Honshu, a vessel with the gigantic size of a cape with 1,17,983 MMT Steam Coal at the Central Quay (CQ)– Berth Number 1.

MV Mineral Honshu vessel had loaded the consignment for its importer public sector NTPC at Richards Bay Port of South Africa and will unload it at Paradip Port.

It is a matter of great achievement since the first cape size vessel docked in the Inner Harbour of the Port only 18 days ago.

Rinkesh Roy, Chairman, Paadip Port Trust(PPT) today felicitated the Captain along with other crew members of the vessel.

Notably, Paradip Port is now gearing up to handle Cape size vessels regularly inside the Harbour to enhance its cargo handling capacity as it is vying for the coveted top position in the country with a slew of other infrastructure development and modernisation schemes of the port.
