Give Us Sanitary Napkins: 86 Tribal Girls Leave Hostel In Kandhamal

Daringibadi in Kandhamal : Protesting against denial of free sanitary napkins, as many as 86 tribal girl students of the government run Asha Kiran residential High School in Tillori village under Daringibadi block have run away from the hostel On July 27. The incident has triggered tremendous public outrage in the entire Daringibadi area.

The district welfare department has already ordered a probe into the shocking turn of events.

The inmates left the school hostel  and went to their villages in disgust since the school authorities did not pay any heed to their complaints regarding non-supply of free sanitary napkins to the hostel.

The welfare extension officer has started investigation into the incident.

The school head master has been accused of not providing sanitary napkins supplied by the state government to the inmates. Disciplinary action would be initiated against the persons involved in irregularities aftr receipt of the probe report.

Meanwhile, the district welfare department has been able to persuade eight inmatws to return to the school hostel.
