Mumbai(PTI): A team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today continued its searches at the Brady House branch of the scam-hit Punjab National Bank in south Mumbai.
The Brady House branch of the PNB is at the centre of the Rs 11,384 crore banking fraud involving billionaire jewellers Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi.
“The CBI search, that began yesterday, is still continuing today in the Punjab National Bank’s mid-corporate branch at the Brady House, Fort, Mumbai,” a CBI spokesperson said.
As the CBI began its searches yesterday, the branch was sealed and entry to the premises was restricted.
A notice mentioning the sealing was pasted at the entrance.
Today, the investigators again went to the bank premises, removed the notice and continued their search operation, the official said.
The searches will not affect regular business of the branch since today is a holiday in Maharashtra on the occasion of the birth anniversary of king Chhatrapati Shivaji, he added.
