Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced a slew of scholarships for school students and also teachers during a first of its kind state-level Children’s Day celebrations at Capital High School in Bhubaneswar.
Making the announcement Naveen said that for the development of Odia language and encouraging students’ interest towards the mother tongue, the state government will give Rs 5000 scholarship for 10 students of each block for scoring high marks in Odia language.
He also announced Rs 5000 scholarship each for a total of 40,000 students for scoring good marks in High School Certificate(HSC) board examinations.
The CM exhorted schools to include alumni for all round development of schools under ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ and announced a cash award of Rs 1 lakh for best three schools in each block across the State.
“Education will take us to the next level of development. With our focus on quality education, we can take our state to next level. This can happen when all of us join hands for a sincere movement,” Naveen exhorted the students.
The Chief Minister also announced cash prizes for parents and guardians of meritorious students who score high marks in HSC examinations.
He also motivated students to study hard to fulfill their dreams and take moral responsibility of parents and work for the development of society, state and nation as a whole.
