Bhubaneswar: In a bid to strengthen the moribund Congress party in the state, a grassroots level a roadmap is being prepared, informed Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Prasad Harichandan today.
Prasad Harichandan lso hinted at a major overhaul in the party organisation.
He also informed that the revamp in the party will be seen after the results of organisational polls from booths to top level is announced. The poll results for the posts of block chairman and district chairman will be out very soon.
“We had informed about revamping the party almost a year ago. You will see the revamp in Odisha Congress after the results of organisational polls from booths to top level is announced,” Prasad Harichandan told reporters today.
The grand old party is struggling in the State for nearly two decades now since the ruing Biju Janata Dal(BJD) headed by captured power in 200 assembly elections.
However, infighting and internal bickering in the party has always raised a question mark on its future, following which a dozen of senior leaders including former Union Minister Chandrasekhar Sahho have already deserted the party to join either the BJD or the BJP.
