Bhubaneswar: Lawmakers of Odisha cutting across party lines today met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the state assembly demanding a hike in their salary and an increase in the amount for MLA Local Area Development (MLALAD) fund.

“All MLAs today met the Chief Minister and demanded salary hike of the legislators,” said Congress Chief Whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati.

“We have requested the CM to increase the MLALAD fund from Rs one crore to a minimum of Rs 3 crore in order to address more problems,” said BJD MLA Sameer Das.
