Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) Amit Shah will visit Odisha in the month of July. However, while Amit Shah would be visiting Odisha on July 1, the schedule of Narendra Modi is yet to be finalized.
Talking to media persons here about the development. secretary of the state unit of the BJP Prithviraj Harichandan said, “The Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah will visit Odisha next month.’’
“However, the schedule of the Prime Minister has not yet been confirmed while Shahji(Amit Shah) will come on July 1 to review party affairs,” he added.
According to party sources Narendra Modi is most likely to come to Jharsuguda to inaugurate the new airport. He will also address the people and inform them about the works his government has done in the last four years.
The Prome Minister had visited the state on May 26 while Amit Shah had come on April 4 this year.
Meanwhile, political speculation have already started doing the rounds about the BJP’s Odisha focus. However, the opposition parties– the ruling BJD and Congress said that the visit of both Narendra Modi and Amit Shah will have no impact in Odisha politics.
“Amit Shah is the President of a political party and Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of the country, therefore they will come here time and again. Who can stop them? They will attack both Congress and BJD as it is their political compulsion. However, their visit will not have any impact in the state,” said OPCC President Niranjan Patnaik.
Likewise, BJD spokesperson Arun Sahoo said, “Their (BJP) party leaders here are not capable nor the party has any strong base. Therefore, their strength lies on the Union leaders. But when people go to vote they will vote only for their own people and they have accepted Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as the most efficient leader of the land.”
