Krishna District Police locked the gates of the residence of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada and thus prevented him to lead a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) rally “Chalo Palnadu” in Guntur district against Jaganmohan Reddy’s YSRCP workers on Wednesday.
Chandrababu Naidus’ son N Lokesh who tried to leave the Naidu’s residence at Undavalli in another vehicle was sent back by the police and was locked inside in his own residence.
The police took many TDP workers in custody.
Meanwhile, the TDP chief has vehemently criticised the action of police. Naidu said, this is a black day in the history of the state.
He warned the government and the police of playing cheap politics.
The TDP’s “Chalo Palnadu” rally at Atmakur in Guntur was meant to give moral support to the victims attacked by the YSRCP workers and send them back to their villages.
However, Naidu said the police cannot prevent us from going to Atmakur.
