Supreme Court Adjourns Ericsson’s plea on Anil Ambani for Tomorrow

The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the court proceedings regarding a contempt notice filed by Ericsson India on Reliance Communications Chairman Anil Ambani.

Ericsson India has alleged Ambani owing a due of Rs. 550 crores. Ericsson lawyer Dushyant Dave told to the SC bench comprising Justice R F Nariman and Justice Vineet Saran that Reliance Communication had hidden their earlier sale of assets worth Rs.2000 crore and Rs. 3000 crore.

This results in gross violation of SC’s two earlier orders and hence should be punished for lying under oath, said the Ericsson lawyer.

Due to insufficiency in time, the SC bench adjourned the hearing and has scheduled February 13 for the next hearing.

Anil Ambani was present along with Reliance Telecom Ltd Chairman Satish Seth and Reliance Infratel Ltd Chairperson Chhaya Virani before the Supreme Court bench.

While Ambani’s lawyer stated, the amount with regards to selling of the assets has not been received.
