Millionaire BMC official in Vigilance Radar

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance officials on Friday conducted concurrent raids at four premises having a place with Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) electoral depositor Golaka Pradhan, including his two houses, on charges of hoarding properties unbalanced to his known wellsprings of wage.

As per sources, the anti corruption wing of the Odisha Police is conducting raids at the residence of Pradhan situated at Sundarapada in the city.

Besides, raids are also on at Pradhan’s other home at Aerobanga area, his shopping complex at Baramunda and a kalyan mandap.

During the raid, the investigating agency has laid its hands on some incriminating documents, LIC deposits and bank passbooks in the name of Pradhan. Besides, it also seized Rs 2 lakh in cash from Pradhan’s house.

Though the exact value of properties owned by Pradhan is yet to be estimated, it is expected that it would be around Rs 2 crore, said a Vigilance official.
