The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) inducted Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur on Wednesday amid series of discussions.
The unanimous decision by the lotus party after Thakur consulted with BJP heavyweights Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Ramlal and Prabhat Jhia in Bhopla.
Sadhvi Thakur after her infusion in the BJP said, “I have formally joined BJP, I will contest elections and will win also.”
It is speculated that Thakur will be the probable candidate to be fielded against Congress candidate Digvijay Singh from Bhopal.
Earlier, former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Uma Bharati opted out of the election race.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga said in his tweet, “Sadhvi Pragya Thakur vs Digvijay Singh in Bhopal.”
Sadhvi Thakur was involed in the 2008 Malegaon blast case that happened on September 29. The LML Freedom vehicle strapped with Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was registered in her name. She is currently out on bail plea.
Thakur has joined many political organisations in her lifetime. She was the state organising secretary of ABVP in 1996.
She was also associated with Vande Mataram Jan Kalyan Samiti and Rashtrawadi Sena.
