On Tuesday morning, the UP Police have arrested four people regarding the Bulandshahr police mob clash. In the incident, Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh died after being hit on the head by the villagers. Two people also lost their lives in the police firing.
The police have filed FIR against 87 people for making riots. A senior Bajrang Dal leader, Yogesh Raj has been named in the FIR. Earlier, Yogesh Raj had filed an FIR for cow slaughter.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is formed to investigate this incident.
The incident followed after there were rumours of cow slaughter in the Siyana village in Bulandshahr, UP. This led to protests and road blockade by the people of the village on the night of December 2.
Police rushed to the spot and tried to calm the protesters. The protesters in return threw stones to the police. Then the police had to open fire. One protester got hit by bullet and later succumbed to his injuries.
Later, the villagers targeted the police station. The cars on the streets were set ablaze. Stones and bullets were exchanged in the violence. Inspector Subodh got hit and he died while being taken to hospital.
The ADG of Meerut zone, Prashant Kumar has asked to verify the facts of the happening. He said, “An SIT probe is effected to investigate the incident and why Inspector Subodh was left alone by the police personnel”.
Meanwhile, UP CM Yogi Adityanath has announced rupees 50 lakhs to Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh’s family and the government has agreed pension.
