The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids on homes and offices of Supreme Court (SC) lawyers Indira Jaising and Anand Grover on Thursday on allegations of funding from overseas to their Delhi-based Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) Lawyers Collective.
The SC lawyer couple were filed criminal cases by the CBI on June 18 on basis of complaint filed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The lawyer couple has been alleged of violating the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA). The investigating agency has raided their homes and offices in Delhi and Mumbai.
Anand Grover is the trustee and director of Lawyers Collective.
Meanwhile, the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has criticised the CBI raid in his twitter handle.
