CLP Leader K Siddaramaiah Resigns as Party Chief after Defeat in Karnataka Polls


With the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) registering majority in the Karnataka poll results, the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader K Siddaramaiah resigned from the party chief post on Monday.

The former Karnataka CM K Siddaramaiah said, he has forwarded his resignation to the Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi from the CLP chief position.

Meanwhile, the BJP is on a roll winning 12 out of 15 seats. Congress has won only 2.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed, the people have voted out the JD(S) and Congress in Karnataka.
