Three-time former Chief Minister of Bihar state Jagannath Mishra passed away at the age of 82 due to prolonged illness on Monday.
Former Bihar CM Mishra was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in New Delhi for the past few months. Mishra was the CM of undivided Bihar for three terms and was the last Congress CM of the state.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has declared 3-day mourning in the state. Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan has condoled the death of the former Union Minister and reminisced his notable contributions to the society.
Former CM Jagannath Mishra will be cremated with state honours. Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi, too, passed his condolences to Mishra.
Before stepping into politics, Mishra was a professor at Bihar University. He was linked to fodder scam and got bail in July 2018 due to his ill health.
