Army Chief General Bipin Rawat became country’s first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) on Wednesday.
The new CDS Bipin Rawat will coordinate and strengthen as the principal military adviser of all the three defence services – Army, Navy and Air Force of the nation.
CDS Rawat said, his primary task is to combine all the forces into a potent force.
He added, he will strive to make 1+1+1 not 3 rather to make it five or six.
CDS Rawat stressed on efficient use of resources and improve training facilities.
Bipin Rawat was appointed as the Army Chief General on December 31, 2015.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Manoj Narvane becomes the new Army chief General.
