Shiv Sena leader Arvind Ganpat Sawant tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
The only Shiv Sena member Sawant in the BJP camp and the Union Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises minister said he took the oath on May 21 as the Cabinet Minister.
Sawant further added, the BJP has backed from his promises, so it won’t be right for me to continue as a minister.
Arvind Sawant is a Shiv Sena Lok Sabha MP from South Mumbai.
Earlier, Sena MP Sanjay Raut clearly hinted on breaking the alliance with the BJP and Sawant’s resignation pointed to the indifference between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena over formation of the government in Maharashtra.
