Home Ministry Demands Answer from Rahul Gandhi over Citizenship Issue

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued notice to the Congress President Rahul Gandhi over his citizenship row alleged by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Subramanian Swamy for being a British citizen on Tuesday.

The home ministry has given 14 days time saying, “You are expected to explain the factual position in this matter to the ministry within a fortnight of receipt of this communication.”

The BJP MP Swamy has stated that Rahul Gandhi chairs the Director seat of a company in United Kingdom. He also said, Rahul Gandhi has stated in the company annual returns in 2005 and 2006 as a British citizen.

An independent candidate Dhruv Lal contesting from Rahul’s family constituency Amethi has also made similar allegations on the Congress President.

However, the Congress party has counter attacked, “BJP is losing. It’s a political move in the middle of the elections. They have made Rahul Gandhi agenda. Answers will be given, legal process will be followed.”
