Indian Air Force (IAF) tactical transport aircraft Antonov AN-32 carrying 13 persons has not landed after it took off from Jorhat in Assam on Monday around 12.25 PM.
The aircraft was to reach Mechuka Advance Landing Ground airstrip in the eastern Himalayas of Arunachal Pradesh’s West Siang district and lost contact after 1PM.
The AN-32 aircraft was carrying around 5 passengers with 8 crew members on board.
A statement released by an IAF official said, “Since the aircraft did not reach the airfield, overdue action was initiated by IAF.”
IAF has deployed a Sukhoi-30 MKI and C-130 aircraft for search operation.
