Veteran Congress leader Kamal Nath vowed to be the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh at the Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal today. The oath of the nine-time Chhindwara Lok Sabha MP was piloted by the Governor Anandiben Patel in the afternoon.
The event took place in the presence of Congress President Rahul Gandhi in the company of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. A host of the same opposition leaders those who were present along with Rahul Gandhi in Jaipur, where Ashok Gehlot sworn in earlier, were also present in Bhopal.
Earlier in the morning, Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot took over as CM and Deputy CM of Rajasthan in the Albert Hall in Jaipur. The event in Jaipur has witnessed a massive group of opposition leaders with the Congress President in attendance. Chartered flights have been booked for the oath ceremonies conducted in India’s three recently concluded elections where Congress won majority. The opposition leaders will travel from Jaipur to Bhopal to Raipur for today’s events.
Through this event, Rahul Gandhi is showcasing the strength of opposition in today’s swearing in ceremonies in these three states. Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati have extended their support inspite of their absence. In Madhya Pradesh, Mayawati has already given her extended support with BSP’s 2 seats to form majority with the Congress. The West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has sent her representative in her absence.
Now, only the swearing in ceremony of Bhupesh Baghel as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh is scheduled to be held later in the evening.
