The exit polls prediction for K Chandresekhar Rao’s Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) massive win matched the exact poll results. 60 seats was the majority mark and they veered to 87 out of the 119 legislature assembly. The Congress party seemed a blurred second after poll results.
KCR’s stake in premature dissolving the assembly proved boon for the party. Her daughter, K Kavitha stated, “We are seeing the response of the people. The hard work in four and a half years has paid off. Nobody knows Telangana like KCR”.
Kavitha replied they had no threat from the rival coalition. She voiced, “This is only a battle showcased on paper. We are in touch with people on the grassroots and people are with KCR”.
Congress had teamed up with long time rivals TDP (Telugu Desam Party) along with CPI (Communist Party of India) and Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) called the ‘maha gathbandhan’. After the poll outcome, Congress has alleged TRS of tampering EVMs. The party has submitted a complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Rajat Kumar.
While, Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM contested the assembly elections, they supported TRS in the rest of Telangana. However, AIMIM will get 8 seats as per the results.
The estimated calculation shows TRS won by over 50000 votes.
