Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman assured the agitated customers of the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) bank to swing to rapid action on the ongoing hassle on Thursday.
Nirmala Sitharaman, who is in Mumbai had to face severe protests outside the BJP office.
She said, the matter will once again be taken up by the Reserve of India (RBI) Governor on an urgent basis.
The Finance Minister further added, the finance ministry has no role in this issue and the secretaries in the department have been directed to study the PMC bank scam matter.
Sitharaman said, revision of rules will help in better governance by the RBI.
Earlier, RBI had reduced the withdrawal amount of PMC bank customers to rupees 1000 and later got revised to rupees 25000 owing to large scale fraud.
