PM Modi Reverberates Climate Change Issue at COP14


Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed to the 14th Conference of Parties (COP14) to United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in Greater Noida at Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

In the high-level meeting, PM Modi proposed initiatives for greater South-South cooperation on an array of issues regarding climate change, biodiversity and land degradation.

PM Modi highlighted issues on water scarcity and soil conservation. He voiced for maintaining a healthy balance between land, water, air, trees and all living beings.

PM Modi announced to effect single-use plastic ban in the coming years in India. The Prime Minister said on creation of ‘Jal Shakti Ministry’ on water-related issues.

PM Modi shifted focus on Zero budget natural farming to double the farmer’s income by increasing crop yield.
