Former Kolkata Commissioner Rajeev Kumar approached the Calcutta High Court (HC) to cancel the notice served on him by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Saradha scam probe on Thursday.
Earlier, the CBI had asked Kumar to be present before them for summoning to which he was absent.
However, Kumar’s counsel has appealed to the Calcutta HC for leave to file petition. The case is adjourned to the afternoon.
Rajeev Kumar has been linked to destruction of electronic evidence in the Saradha scam probe when he was the investigating officer in this case.
Earlier, the West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had opposed to CBI questioning to Kumar in the Saradha probe.
