Ratul Puri Concedes to Surrender in Agusta Westland Corruption Case

Ratul Puri, nephew of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath has agreed to surrender in the Agusta Westland chopper money laundering case in the Delhi High Court on Thursday.

Puri is already facing bank loan fraud charges for his company Moser Baer to an alleged sum of rupees 354 crores. He is in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Earlier, on August 21 Puri’s plea for Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) was rejected by special judge Arvind Kumar of the Delhi HC.

However, the judge said, there is no stance for the cancellation of the NBW since Puri is willing to surrender in the money laundering case.

The Delhi HC also took in cognisance of the fact that after numerous attempts from the ED, Puri had left the ED office on July 26 without his signature on his statements.

On August 20, Puri was arrested by the ED officials in case of the 354-crore bank loan fraud for his Moser Baer company.
