The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the earth observation satellite, CARTOSAT-3 along with 13 US nano satellites from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh at 9.28 AM on Wednesday.
CARTOSAT-3 was launched with the launch vehicle PSLV C47 rocket and was placed in the orbit 17 minutes and 46 seconds after the launch.
The 13 US nano satellites were placed into the orbit at 26 minutes and 56 seconds after the lift-off.
The ISRO chief K Sivan was elated after the satellites were successfully placed in the orbit.
The 1625-kg CARTOSAT-3 will help in studying the land cover analysis of the Earth using high resolution imaging.
