Supreme Court Rules Karnataka Speaker to Hold Rebel MLAs Resignation

The Supreme Court adjourned the proceedings on the Karnataka Speaker Ramesh Kumar’s decision on accepting the resignation of rebel MLAs who had quitted from the JD(S)-Congress coalition to July 16 on Friday.

The SC had ordered the 11 MLAs to submit fresh resignations to the Karnataka Speaker. Eight MLAs had forwarded their new resignations at Vidhan Soudha to the Speaker Ramesh Kumar on July 11.

However, Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy’s has no intention of resigning, the 10-day Karnataka assembly monsoon session began with a no-confidence motion being moved by the Karnataka CM.
