The ongoing heavy rainfall in the Tamil Nadu state has led to 17 deaths due to wall collapse in Mettupalayam in Coimbatore in the pre dawn hours on Monday.
As per the ill-fated incident, three tile-roofed houses fell down after a compound wall fell due to heavy rains on 17 people.
Meanwhile, rescue operation is underway by the fire and rescue personnel and the recovered bodies have been shifted to Mettupalayam Government Hospital.
