The US government declared $5 million reward for identifying the offenders behind the 2008 Mumbai attacks today. America still feels justice has been denied on this horrible incident. US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo has insisted Pakistan to help in nabbing the culprits.
Ajmal Kasab, the lone terrorist survivor , was hanged after a protracted trial , wrecked havoc along with 9 other slained terrorists in a series of coordinated attacks in Mumbai on this day. 166 people died in this assault out of which 6 were Americans.
Ten years down the lane, Mike Pompeo recalling this shameful episode said, “It is an affront to the families of the victims that, after ten years those who planned the Mumbai attack have still not been convicted for their involvement”.
“We call upon all countries, particularly Pakistan, to uphold their UN Security Council obligations to implement sanctions against the terrorists responsible for this atrocity, including Lashkar-e-Tayyiba and its affiliates”.
Finally he said, “We stand with the families and friends of the victims, whose loved ones were lost in this act of barbarism, including six American citizens”.
This proclamation by US is third such reward offer by the Department of State Rewards for Justice (RFJ) program.
