Bhubaneswar: May 21: Odisha registered 12,523 new cases on 20th May, Which is the highest number of daily cases recorded in Odisha so far. Of this, 7012 people were in quarantine and rest 5511 are local contact cases.
Khurda District recorded highest number of cases among districts i.e. 1842. Cases in Cuttack and Angul rose to 1084 and 930 respectively.
Besides, Sundergarh reported 715 cases, Puri 568 cases, Mayurbhanj 546 cases, Balasore 510 cases, Kalahandi 491 cases, Jajpur 419 cases, Sambalpur 400 cases, Nawarangpur 383 cases, Jharsuguda 373 cases, Ganjam 369 cases, Boudh 365 cases, Jagatsinghpur 325 cases, Rayagada 321 cases, Bargarh & Bargarh 315 cases each, Balangir 296 cases, Koraput 233 cases, Keonjhar 232 cases, Sonepur 202 cases, Kendrapara 195 cases, Bhadrak 177 cases, Dhenkanal 132 cases, Nuapada 129 cases, Deogarh 106 cases, Kandhamal 100 cases, Malkangiri 73 cases, Gajapati 53 cases and 324 cases in State Pool list.
On 20th May, 9,870 patients recovered from the disease and with this, total people recovered from the infection so far reached 5,56,501. Total positive cases in Odisha increased to 6,68,422.
Active cases number increased to 1,09,438.
