The two most wanted criminals, Manjeet Shah and Abhay Shah (both aged between 40-45), on whom Non Bailable Warrants (NBWs) had been issued earlier by a court in Bihar.

After committing crimes, they had undergone a complete makeover, donning the garb of sadhus in the Ashram to stay unidentified.

They were serving as drivers of Ashram-run autos at Station Bazaar here to carry commuters between the Ashram and the railway Station.

“The duo had been involved in as many as 41 cases,” sources said.

Manjeet was involved in nine cases, including three pending murder cases while Abhay was involved in six pending murder cases.

The accused were also involved in dacoity, bombing, kidnapping, burglary and loot cases.

A three-member team of Bihar police, all of sub-inspector rank, had camped in Hotel Payal at Old Station Bazaar here for the last one week to trace the hard-core criminals hailing from Samastipur in Bihar.

Soon after being arrested, the accused were taken to Bihar on transit remand after producing them in a local court.
