Bijepur Block President Of BJD Radheshyam Mohapatra Quits Party

Bargarh: In a major political development, the ruling BJD’s block President of Bijepur in Bargarh district, Radheshyam Mohapatra today resigned from the post ahead of Bijepur assembly constituency bypoll.

According to reports, Radheyshayam Mohapatra resigned from his post alleging that the ruling party continued to neglect its members by giving importance to Congress workers particularly after inducting Rita Sahu, wife of late Subala Sahu, the deceased MLA of Bijepur.

Notably, former Bijepur MLA and BJD leader Ashok Panigrahi had also earlier resigned from the ruling BJD and joined BJP on October 2. Ashok Panigrahi had quit BJD after the ruling party announced Congress MLA Subal Sahu’s widow, Rita Sahu, as the official candidate for the upcoming Bijepur by-poll.

Later, BJP district president Naranyan Sahu resigned from the saffron party on November 21 and has announce his decision to join the BJD.
