Facebook Suicide: Wife Of Deceased Husband In Puri Claims Her Innocence, To Be Questioned By Police


Puri: A day after a person of Puri district committed suicide over his wife’s alleged dalliance with her ex-lover after marriage and posted a video on Facebook in this regard, the woman in question has defended herself saying that she was not involved in such an affair.

“Prior to my marriage with my husband Santanu Patra, my marriage was fixed by my family with Amaresh Swain of Jagatsinghpur. My husband continued to suspect me of having an extramarital affair. I had no such relation of with Amaresh after my marriage with Santanu,” she rued in a video.

On the other hand, Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi said in a press conference that the wife of deceased Santanu Patra and Amaresh Swain will be brought under the ambit of the investigation and will be questioned in the matter.

As per the complaint of the deceased’s mother, an unnatural death case has been registered into the incident.

As narrated in the video posted by Santanu Patra, his wife, who is works as a nurse at a private nursing home in Cuttack, had a love affair with Amaresh Swain before her marriage and was even impregnated by him.

Santanu also complained that she committed abortion before their marriage and her family members never disclosed the incident to him before it.

“Amaresh had sent me photos of his and my wife’s intimate moments. When I confronted her, she denied it outright,” he alleged in the video.

Santanu further alleged in the video that his wife continued to maintain “sexual relationship” with Amaresh even after their marriage.

He went on to say that her family members continued to torture and even threatened him several times and unable to bear mental stress, he decided to take the extreme step to end his life.

However, the wife of the deceased Santanu Patra said that she was prepared to go through the most rigorous punishment if she is found guilty and claimed that she was prepared to face any kind of investigation.
