Rabi Mallick, the former Kakatpur MLA under the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) rule left the party ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state on Friday.
Mallick also resigned from the State Planning Board, where he was a member. Mallick has tendered his resignation to the BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.
Rabi Mallick had won from Kakatpur constituency in 2009 elections and in 2014 was not given party ticket to contest for the same constituency.
On Friday, Mallick after his self ouster said, “A lot of indecisiveness on my role in the BJD party has happened. The same indecisiveness that happened in 2014 also happened this time in 2019. I feel the party no more needs me. Despite of working for the party, there is no one to pay any attention or importance, but the new comers are regarded in high spirits. This led to my resignation.”
On the BJD party’s ticket distribution, Mallick has expressed sheer upset.
In 2014, Surendra Sethi was nominated to contest for Kakatpur and this time again, Sethi is assigned with the same responsibility.
