A team of CBI sleuths led by its DIG Lata Monoj Kumar has arrived in Raygada to conduct the eight phase of inquiry into the murder case of Tikiri Primary School teacher Itishree Pradhan.
Apart from this a scientific team of the Central investigating agency has also arrived in Tikiri today.
Itishree was working as a teacher in an upper primary school at Tikiri in Rayagada when she was allegedly subjected to sexual harassment by school inspector N Dandasena. On October 27, 2013, Itishree was set ablaze on the school premises by some unidentified persons. On November 1, she succumbed to the burn injuries.
The concerned doctor of Vishakhapatnam based government hospital on February 6 submitted the post mortem report before the District Sessions Court, Raygada and affirmed that the incident was a clear case of homicide. As per the post mortem report, Itishree was murdered.As 22 months have passed since Sikshya Sahayak Itishree Pradhan was set on fire, her killers are yet to be nabbed.
The Supreme Court had directed the CBI to probe the murder case and identify the people responsible for death of the 27-year-old schoolteacher.
Last week the apex court directed the CBI to arrest all the culprits in the case and complete the probe in three months.
