Complimenting Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik by calling him “experienced” and “popular” among people, his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said he needs to “learn a lot” from him.During his visit, Yadav is scheduled to visit KIIT University.
Yadav is also likely to meet Samajwadi Party leaders and some investors in the state before leaving for Lucknow.
Thanking the Odisha chief minister for sparing his valuable time, Akhilesh said he had the first-hand information about a number of ongoing welfare schemes in Odisha.
To a question about the topic of discussion he had with the Odisha chief minister, Yadav said he was briefed about the Mamata Yojana, a pension scheme, housing scheme for the poor and other health schemes.
“The Odisha chief minister should also pay his visit to Lucknow”, he said.
He, however, said he cannot take a decision in this regard now.
“Some people have worked very well while remaining with the government and there are others who are also willing to work even better”, he pointed out.
Yadav is likely to meet Samajwadi Party leaders and some investors in the state before leaving for Lucknow.
Meanwhile, in a memorandum the Samajwadi Party Odisha unit urged Yadav for a guest house for the people of Odisha visiting Uttar Pradesh.
“There is lot of similarities between the people of Odisha and Uttar Pradesh. Religious tourism can be developed between the two states,” Samajwadi Party .
