Odisha DGP Asks For ‘Special Drive’ To Arrest All ‘Wanted Criminals’


Bhubaneswar: The Director General of Police R P Sharma today issued an order asking his officials to begin a month-long ‘Special Drive’ to arrest all ‘Wanted Criminals’ across the state.

R P Sharma, during a video conference with the district SPs, Range IGs and DIGs, asked the police officers to strengthen their intelligence network and take steps to avoid any law and order situations.

The DGP asked them to take stringent action against all organised criminals, transport mafia, drug peddlers and illegal firearm traders. He also laid emphasis on the execution of Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) and expediting closure of cases involving anti-socials.

Besides, he ordered the cops to prepare a dossier of criminals across the state and book all of them under preventive Sections 107 and 110 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

The DGP R P Sharma further said that the Revenue and other Department officials should be offered all assistance to check anti-social activities of unscrupulous stone quarry operators.
