Few southern districts of Odisha have witnessed disastrous torrential rain due to the low pressure.
The disastrous rain on Wednesday, has snapped both the road and rail communications in those districts, such as Koraput, Kalahandi and Rayagada.
According to an information by East Coast Railway officials, a landslide in Koraput-Rayagada section has disrupted the rail communications.
Few railway officials has sighted the disaster, saying that dozens of trains were cancelled and delayed due to some large boulders fall in between the Damanjodi and Dumriput stations track.
The landslide was shortly terminated Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express at Koraput station while Howrah-Jagdalpur Samaleswari Express at Rayagada.
Meanwhile, Durg-Jagdalpur Express was delayed at Ambadola and the Rourkela-Koraput Express at Titlagarh. The Sambalpur-Koraput passenger was also being delayed by haulting it at Tikri.
The rain also created problems in road communications as over four feet water flawed over a bridge on NH-26 on Hati river near Junagarh in Kalahandi district. The incessant rain also caused flood which affected few villages like Matikhala, Biripur, Barakeli, Biripur, Balichhada of Kalampur block in Kalahandi. The villagers took their shelter in a nearby school.
The flood has also swamped few villages under Junagarh, Dharamgarh and Koksara blocks in Kalahandi while the flood water in Angi river in Nabarangpur district flowed over Dabugaon-Barua bridge, which disrupted road communication between Raighar and Umerkote and flood in Nagavali river snapped road communication between Rayagada and Kalyansighpur in Rayagada district.
